A new student or employee who is a current/recent employee or alumni of one of the Nebraska State Colleges or Nebraska University campuses DOES NOT need to claim or re-activate their existing NUID.
A new student or employee who is a former (NOT CURRENT OR RECENT) employee or alumni of one of the Nebraska State Colleges or Nebraska University campuses needs to complete the steps to Re-Activate their NUID.
New users (applicants/students, employees) must claim their TrueYou Identity and establish a password before accessing student, staff or faculty services such as myPSC or Firefly. If you do not know the NUID number, click here to look it up online.
- Go to TrueYou Identity Management at https://trueyou.nebraska.edu
- Click the Claim Account link
- Enter your NUID and Select Lookup Method of either email or ssn (email address you provided during application). If you don’t have a current email on record, you can click the radial button which will allow you to enter your SSN.
- Click 'Submit'
- When you arrive at the next page, you will create a password and click ‘Submit’

The use of two-factor authentication is mandatory for students and employees. Enrollment in Duo two-factor may be completed after the NUID password has been set up. If two-factor is not completed at this time, you may log into TrueYou at a later time to complete the process. Visit https://trueyou.nebraska.edu and click the green button to log in to manage TrueYou two-factor devices.
