Planning Your Path
Adding Courses to Your Plan
Organize remaining course requirements by planning your course schedule by term! Stellic allows you to drop and drop courses to plan for multiple semesters into the future. See how it works here. Note: this feature is for planning purposes only, course registration will continue in SIS.
Using Placeholders
Placeholders are used when you aren't sure what course to register for but need to hold that space in your schedule. For example, you can hold space for a general requirement without knowing which course you'll take to fill that requirement. See this page to learn more.
Plan for Activities
In addition to course placeholders, you can add activity placeholders to your plan. For example, if there is a semester when you are considering studying abroad, you can add an activity placeholder for that. Learn how to do it here.
Searching for Courses
Using the Schedule "Term XY" Tab
As soon as the course schedule for the next semester becomes available, usually about mid-term, you will be able to start using Stellic to plan for specific classes. In the left sidebar, a tab with the next semester in the name will appear. Here are just a few of the things you can do in this view:
- Search for classes by keyword. For example, you could search for any class with the word "film" in the title or course description.
- Search for classes by time. Drag over a time of day on your week view, and classes that fall in that block will appear. Then you can apply filters on top of them.
Here is more information about adding classes to your plan for the upcoming semester.
Using the Courses Tab
Click on the tab called Courses in the left sidebar to search the entire course catalog. Keep in mind that this catalog is very broad. It will include graduate and undergraduate classes, for example. Use the filters to search by semester or by other criteria. Learn more about this here.

Identify Why a Course Isn't Counting
If you notice a course isn't counting towards a requirement, first, ensure the course fulfills all of the constraints and has not been used to fulfil another requirement in the audit. Read more about how to do this here.
