New student or employee who is a current/recent employee or alumni of one of the Nebraska State Colleges or Nebraska University campuses DOES NOT need to claim or re-activate their existing NUID.
You must claim your TrueYou Identity and establish a password before accessing student, staff or faculty services. The claim process will verify your account with personally identifying information and set up your authentication questions. If you do not know or unsure what your NUID is then click here to look it up.
- Go to TrueYou Identity Management at https://trueyou.nebraska.edu
- Click the 'CLAIM YOUR ID' button
to begin the claiming process.

- On this page you’ll enter the NUID that your department gave you, as well as the email address you provided during application. If for some reason you don’t have an email on record, you can check the box that says Don’t Know Email Address, which will allow you to enter your SSN instead.
- Click 'Next'

When you arrive at the next page, you will need to enter a password and click ‘Submit’

New student or employee who is a former (NOT CURRENT OR RECENT) employee or alumni of one of the Nebraska State Colleges or Nebraska University campuses needs to complete the steps to Re-Activate their NUID.
